FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Who needs Cooljamaz?

Cooljamaz was designed for women who are experiencing night sweats or hot flashes caused by perimenopause, pregnancy, cancer treatments, menopause, obesity or medications prescribed for anxiety, depression, anxiety, thyroid disorders, detox and diabetes.

2. How will Cooljamaz help me in getting a restful night sleep?

Tests show that the fabrics used in Cooljamaz dry four times faster than cotton and faster than any other performance fabric. The purpose of sweat is to allow the heat to escape and to cool the body’s core temperature. Cooljamaz quickly absorbs this heat carrying moisture and releases it an extremely fast rate into the air, thus releasing the heat quickly. The result is lower skin temperatures, added comfort and a great night’s sleep. Additionally, unlike other performance fabrics, dri-release® has a soft natural feel and the performance never washes out.

3. What makes Cooljamaz different from other wicking nightwear in the marketplace?

The simple truth is that wicking is only half the battle. To have true moisture management you have to have an optimum balance of two properties: wicking and fast drying. Dri-release® was created to provide this blend of properties with fibers in a spun yarn that wick moisture away from the skin and then quickly force the moisture to the surface of the fabric where it evaporates. This fast Water Release Rate is how dri-release® outperforms all other wicking treated fabrics. With FreshGuard®, Cooljamaz adds freshness to the comfort of our sleepwear. This natural odor neutralizer is also built into the fabric and can only be found in dri-release®.

4. How can Cooljamaz help with patients undergoing cancer treatment?

Patients on tamoxifen, a very effective medication in preventing the recurrence of estrogen-receptor-positive breast cancer, complain about menopausal side effects such as hot flashes, night sweats, low libido, mood swings and nausea. Hot flashes and night sweats are induced by hormonal changes caused by medications, lifestyle and most commonly, menopause. Cooljamaz nightwear is certainly not a cure, but it is a big help for women struggling to get a good, restful night sleep.

5. So the wick is permanently embedded in the fabric and can never wash out?

DO NOT USE FABRIC SOFTENERS!!  NO LIQUID SOFTENERS OR DRYER SHEETS!!  Fabric softeners are basically wax.  and makes the fabric feel smooth and soft.  It is also coated with a hydrophobic surface that will prevent wicking, or absorption of moisture.  The dryer sheets are the worst.  In fact, if you use dryer sheets on a regular basis, your dryer drum becomes coated with the wax and will coat future loads even if you do not add a dryer sheet to those future loads.  The best procedure for dri-release® is to wash without softeners and hang dry.  They will dry very quickly on a hanger.  If you need to dry them in the dryer, it is ok to do so.  Just do not use the dryer sheet.  However, it would be a good idea to wipe down the inside of your dryer with a little alcohol once in a while to keep the dryer sheet residue at a minimum.

If you should dry your Cooljamaz in a fabric softener just  wash the garment again without any softener.  Within one-two washings the softener will wash out.  Once dry, drop a small drop of water on them to see if it absorbs right away.  If not, wash again. This is true of all performance/wicking apparel. In fact, if you want your bath and pool towels to work right, you should not use fabric softener on them.
